Recreating aura of the bygone era
A two-day exhibition, Royal Fables, in its seventh season presented Imperial India in all its splendour re-telling the fabled lifestyle of royalty in India. The heritage show presented the work that is being done by members of erstwhile royal families to keep the traditions and art from the region they belong to alive. The event held at The Mansion, Hyatt Regency showcased art, craft, fashion and cuisine from royal kitchens.

Mumbai girl Danielle Canute wins 'India's Next Top Model'
The 18-year-old dusky beauty, along with the other contestants, Gloria Tep and Rushali Rai, participated in the finale, judged by the show's mentors Lisa Haydon, Dabboo Ratnani, Anusha Dandekar and Neeraj Gaba. “When I auditioned for the show, I had no idea that I would make it through to the first round of elimination, let alone winning the show. I am so happy and thrilled to have won 'India’s Next Top Model'. "I'm just a normal teenager who got to work with the biggest names in the industry at such a young age and also got to be mentored by Lisa Haydon, Neeraj Gaba, Anusha Dandekar and Dabboo Ratnani," Canute, who's in the second year of graduation, said in a statement.

Mallika Sherawat may have made stunning fashion statements during her many media appearances in India and abroad but guess what. The stunner dons a burqa if she has to travel alone. Revealing this secret was the actress herself. Said Mallika, “Usually when I travel I have my staff with me. But on occassions when I am travelling alone, I wear a burqa to avoid attracting attention.” Mallika Sherawat, who emerged as a sex-symbol after starring in Murder with Emraan Hashmi, said that she is quite religious and spiritual at heart which is quite a far cry from her on-screen avatar. -

A Max-imum Fashion Fare
Floral prints, trending Ikat and camouflage patterns — these were some of the new designs at MAX, a part of the Autum’15 collection. The curator of the lookbook, Karun Raman, a fashion choreographer and stylist, along with actors Sakshi Agarwal and Nandita Swetha, was present at the unveiling of the catalogue at Max store located on the East Coast Road, on Tuesday.
Talking to City Express, Karun, who was the style guru for MAX for their autumn-winter collection said, “I have styled their catalogue and choreographed their upcoming fashion show. The colours this season are mostly light and include shades of brown, grey and little bit of yellow.”

Indian billionaire behind UK shareholder rebellion: Report
LONDON: A Dubai-based Indian billionaire is reportedly behind a shareholder rebellion at one of Britain's major fashion retailers, a media report said today.
Mukesh "Micky" Jagtiani, an Indian-born former London taxi driver who now runs a sprawling retail empire from the Middle East, and two other investors are pushing for a board shake-up at UK-based Debenhams, 'The Sunday Times' reported.
